Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a transformative urban development project to upgrade Umm Suqeim Street from Jumeirah Street to Al Khail Road. Part of a broader master plan to enhance Dubai’s road infrastructure, the project aims to improve traffic flow, connectivity, and quality of life for residents.Key features include upgraded intersections, four bridges, and three tunnels spanning 4.1 km, supporting smoother traffic across six major junctions. Once complete, the corridor will handle up to 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, cutting travel time from 20 minutes to just 6 minutes between Jumeirah Street and Al Khail Road.

The project also introduces vibrant urban elements such as pedestrian walkways, cycling tracks, boulevards, and community-friendly spaces. It connects residential hubs to the Mall of the Emirates Metro Station and supports over two million residents across key zones including Jumeirah, Al Barsha, and Al Quoz.
RTA is concurrently upgrading Al Qudra Road with new bridges and expanded lanes, aiming to reduce travel time by over 70%. Both projects are part of Dubai’s commitment to future-ready infrastructure and sustainable urban growth.
