Ras Al Khaimah: A man, his lover, and their accomplice were convicted in a premeditated plot to murder a lawyer in Ras Al Khaimah, a crime that shocked the community and exposed a deeply disturbing conspiracy fueled by an extramarital affair.
According to police and judicial records, the main accused, identified as H.M., began a secret relationship with a married administrative worker employed at a local school. Her husband, the victim, was a lawyer and a diabetic. Believing him to be dead, she called H.M. for help in disposing of the body. When H.M. arrived and realized the man was still alive, he strangled him to death. He then offered Dh10,000 to his Asian driver to assist in dumping the body. The trio placed the victim’s body in his car, tied his hands to the steering wheel, and pushed the vehicle into a mountainous valley, attempting to make the murder look like a car accident.A shepherd discovered the vehicle and alerted authorities. The Ras Al Khaimah Police launched a full investigation and soon uncovered the plot. All three suspects confessed during interrogation. The criminal court sentenced the three to death. However, the wife later appealed her sentence, which was commuted to life imprisonment.
