Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) organized a grand Eid celebration involving workers across the emirate. Prizes worth approximately AED 500,000—including cars, gold, flight tickets, and vouchers worth AED 500—were distributed to the workers.More than 42,000 people participated in the two-day event, which featured Bollywood celebrities as special guests. The celebration took place in the Al Quoz area of Dubai, under the theme “Let’s Celebrate Eid Together.”
High-ranking officials such as Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Assistant Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, and Colonel Omar Matroushi Al Musain, Assistant Director of the Work Regulation Sector of Dubai Emirates, attended the event.Workers from various countries—including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Nepal—took part in the festivities.

Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor stated that the event was organized to honor and appreciate the significant contributions of the worker community to Dubai’s growth and development.Several government departments collaborated to ensure the success of the event, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Police, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.Charitable organizations such as the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Dubai Charity Association, Beit Al Khair Society, Mai Dubai, We One, and the Nabadat Al Emirates Volunteer Team also supported the event.
