Dubai:Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that its integrated public transport network served a staggering 7.577 million riders during the Eid Al-Adha holiday from 5 to 8 June 2025, marking a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. The surge in ridership underscores the growing trust in Dubai’s efficient and accessible public transportation services, particularly during peak travel periods and festive seasons.
The breakdown of the figures highlights the vital role each mode of transport played:

• Dubai Metro (Red and Green Lines): 2.786 million riders
• Dubai Tram: 119,917 riders
• Public Buses: 1.663 million riders
• Marine Transport: 307,684 riders
• Taxis: 2.196 million riders
• Shared Mobility Services: 504,159 riders

RTA attributed the increase in ridership to the strategic planning and coordination among various transport sectors to ensure seamless mobility, enhanced service frequency, and customer convenience during the holiday period.

“The rise in ridership is a reflection of public confidence in the RTA’s continued efforts to provide safe, reliable, and integrated transport solutions,” an RTA spokesperson stated. “We remain committed to offering world-class mobility services that support Dubai’s vision of becoming a smart and sustainable city.”The RTA continues to monitor travel patterns and leverage data-driven insights to further improve transportation services across the emirate.
