Dubai: The 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2025) will be celebrated with a mega event on June 21 at the Sharjah Expo Centre, organized by the Indian Consulate in Dubai. The announcement was made by Consul General Satish Kumar Sivan during the curtain-raiser event held at the consulate.Held under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, the event aligns with the UAE’s “Year of the Community” celebrations. Various yoga groups and social organizations will collaborate to promote the holistic benefits of yoga — a gift from India to the world.

Over 5,000 participants are expected at the venue, which will open at 5 PM, with sessions beginning at 6 PM. Attendees are advised to bring their own yoga mats, though a limited number will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Shuttle services will be available from nearby public transport points.
The event will feature group yoga sessions, guided practices, and cultural performances. Additional IDY celebrations will also take place in Abu Dhabi under the Indian Embassy’s leadership.
The curtain-raiser concluded with a special chair yoga session and a one-minute silence in honor of the victims of the recent Ahmedabad plane crash
