Muscat: The UAE Coast Guard successfully rescued 24 crew members following a collision involving an oil tanker in the Oman Sea. The incident occurred approximately 24 nautical miles off the UAE coast near the Hormuz shoreline, when the oil tanker ‘Adalin’ collided with two other vessels.
Immediately after the incident, a search and rescue team from the UAE’s National Guard arrived at the scene and evacuated all 24 crew members safely and without injuries. The rescued individuals were transported to Khorfakkan Port, where they were provided with immediate medical assistance.
The cause of the collision remains unclear, and an investigation has been launched to determine what led to the crash and whether any environmental impact occurred as a result.
Earlier, British maritime security agency Ambrey had reported a collision between vessels about 22 nautical miles off Khorfakkan, UAE, but clarified that it was not a security-related incident.
