Dubai:Rewaq Ousha Educational Institute, in collaboration with UK-based NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), has launched a major initiative to provide free safety training to 10,000 workers across the UAE. The project, backed by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and Dubai Immigration, aims to train 3,000 workers in the first year, with the goal of completing the program within three years.The announcement was made during a press conference in Dubai by Rewaq Director Dr. Amina Ajmal and Manager Ajmal Shamsudeen. The program was officially inaugurated at the Rewaq auditorium by the institute’s Chairperson Dr. Moza Ghubash Al Muhairi, the UAE’s first Emirati woman PhD holder.
This is NEBOSH UK’s first CSR initiative outside the UK, targeting high-risk work sectors to enhance safety awareness and emergency response capabilities among laborers.
The training will cover key safety areas including:
• First Aid
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• Electrical Safety
• Fire and Rescue
Classes will be conducted in multiple languages to ensure accessibility. Participants who complete the program will receive NEBOSH-accredited certificates and study materials free of charge.
Rewaq representatives also hinted at the possibility of expanding the program to India in the future.
In addition to Dr. Amina Ajmal and Ajmal Shamsudeen, the press conference was attended by Manager Nadhir Khemisi, Learning Strategist Siddiq Hills, and social worker Alnishaj Shahul.
With a legacy of over 33 years in community service and education, Rewaq Ousha Educational Institute currently offers more than 200 courses across sectors such as healthcare, health and safety, engineering, management, and language training.
