Dubai:The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched its annual “Summer Without Accidents” campaign, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and Dubai Police, to enhance road safety during the hot summer months.Running from July through September, the campaign features safety messages across Dubai’s streets, smart apps, and social media, aiming to educate the public on vital vehicle maintenance practices. Motorists are urged to perform routine checks on tyres, engine oil, coolant levels, and braking systems to prevent breakdowns and avoid accidents.Ahmed Al Khzaimy, Director of Traffic at RTA, emphasized the importance of these inspections, noting they play a key role in reducing risks on the road. He also warned against the dangerous practice of leaving children unattended in vehicles, even briefly, due to the risk of suffocation. As part of its awareness drive, RTA is also participating in Dubai Summer Surprises and hosting student summer camps to spread road safety messages across all age groups.

Motorists are reminded to avoid prolonged parking under direct sunlight and ensure proper air conditioning, clean windows, and vehicle upkeep for safer summer travel.
