Dubai:Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a AED 633 million contract for the development of Al Mustaqbal Street, stretching from Za’abeel Palace Street to Financial Centre Street. The project is part of a larger infrastructure initiative that includes the Trade Centre Roundabout upgrade. The development involves the construction of 1,200 metres of tunnels, a 450-metre bridge, and a pedestrian bridge over Al Sukook Street. Al Mustaqbal Street will be widened from three to four lanes in both directions, increasing road capacity by 33% and reducing travel time from 13 minutes to 6 minutes. The project will significantly enhance connectivity to key areas such as the Dubai World Trade Centre, DIFC, Downtown Dubai, and Business Bay, benefiting nearly 500,000 residents and visitors.RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer stated that the project also includes aesthetic upgrades such as pedestrian walkways, cycling tracks, and decorative lighting to promote safe, accessible, and vibrant urban spaces.

This initiative runs concurrently with the ongoing Trade Centre Roundabout and Oud Metha–Al Asayel Street development projects, all part of RTA’s broader efforts to meet future traffic demands and support Dubai’s rapid urban growth.
