Dubai: In a concerted effort to enhance public safety and ensure regulatory compliance within the delivery sector, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has conducted 1,059 inspections of delivery motorcycles across the emirate. The campaign was carried out in collaboration with Dubai Police, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Dubai Municipality, and the Dubai Health Authority. The inspections focused on high-traffic areas including Downtown Dubai, Jumeirah, and Motor City, resulting in multiple violations and the impounding of 19 motorcycles for breaching sector regulations.Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, said the initiative forms part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to enforce rules and elevate safety standards in the growing delivery sector. Violations recorded included failure to wear protective gear, operating motorcycles without the required professional training certificate issued by the RTA, and reckless driving.

To boost awareness, RTA distributed QR codes linking to educational videos that explain delivery sector requirements and promote safe driving practices. Mahboob urged all companies to comply with official guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment.

RTA reaffirmed its commitment to continuing joint inspection and awareness campaigns, backed by regulatory updates and partnerships with key government entities, in line with its vision for sustainable and globally leading mobility services.
