Dubai:Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been awarded the 2025 International Safety Award by the British Safety Council, recognising its outstanding commitment to health, safety, and well-being across its worksites. The RTA achieved the prestigious ‘Distinction’ level, the highest recognition in the award category.The award highlights RTA’s comprehensive approach to occupational health and safety, reflecting its dedication to protecting employees, contractors, and assets while promoting a culture of well-being throughout the organisation. RTA was selected among 874 applicants from 45 countries representing various high-risk industries, including construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, and utilities.In its award submission, RTA showcased a range of proactive initiatives and best practices designed to enhance workplace safety and promote employee mental and physical well-being. These efforts align with the authority’s Strategic Plan 2024–2030, which prioritises safety, asset protection, and institutional security.“This global recognition reaffirms RTA’s leadership in applying world-class standards in health and safety,” said an RTA spokesperson.

“It reflects our unwavering commitment to embedding safety and well-being into every project, policy, and decision-making process.”Now in its 67th year, the International Safety Award celebrates organisations that have demonstrated exemplary efforts in preventing workplace injuries and illnesses. The award also honours companies that actively support mental health and overall well-being in the workplace.With this accolade, RTA further strengthens its global reputation as a forward-thinking, safety-focused organisation setting benchmarks for occupational health and safety across the transport and infrastructure sectors.
