Dubai: A driver has been fined AED 50,000 and had his vehicle confiscated after a video showing reckless driving near Al Ittihad Road went viral. The incident occurred early last Friday near the Al Qiyadah Tunnel in the direction of Sharjah.The video footage shows the driver dangerously cutting across lanes from right to left without any regard for road safety, colliding with other vehicles and even crashing into a barrier. The reckless maneuver endangered not only the driver’s life but also the lives of other motorists on the road.Eyewitnesses described the driver’s behavior as careless and disturbing, causing panic among other drivers. Following the circulation of the viral video, Dubai Police swiftly identified the individual involved.Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, confirmed that the driver was quickly tracked down and the vehicle was taken into custody shortly after the incident.Authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring road safety and warned that such dangerous driving behavior will not be tolerated.
