Dubai: The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) has announced that telemarketing calls will only be permitted between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm. Sending promotional messages without prior approval from the authority is strictly prohibited.

Telephonic promotions are not allowed without obtaining the necessary license from TDRA.

To block promotional messages, Etisalat and du users can send an SMS to 7726. For example:
• To block financial institution messages: send B Banking
• To block entertainment-related messages: send B Tourism
• Similarly, sending B Charity, B Education, B Retails, or B Health will block messages from those respective sectors.

Customers who wish to continue receiving promotional messages can opt-in by sending:
• U eand for Etisalat users
• U dupromo for du users
• U AD – Virgin for Virgin Mobile users

If promotional messages continue to be received after blocking, complaints can be filed with TDRA. Users may also choose to re-enable previously blocked promotions at any time.
