Dubai: Passenger traffic at Dubai International Airport (DXB) is set to surge in the coming days as residents — including families and children — return from their summer vacations. Airport authorities expect more than 3.6 million passengers to pass through between August 13 and 25.
With schools in the UAE reopening at the end of August, many Emirati and expatriate families who travelled abroad for the mid-summer break are now heading back. On average, DXB handles around 280,000 passengers per day, but traffic is expected to peak on Friday, August 15, with approximately 290,000 passengers.
In the first half of 2025, DXB welcomed 9.88 million international visitors — a 6% year-on-year increase — and handled a total of 46 million passengers across both domestic and international routes. The figures further cement its position among the world’s busiest international airports.

Airport authorities have completed all preparations to ensure smooth operations during the busy period, including streamlining security checks and passenger processing.
