Dubai:Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a comprehensive back-to-school safety plan for the new academic year, covering over 400,000 students across 230 schools. The initiatives include traffic improvements near schools, awareness programmes for students such as “Golden Rules for Generations’ Safety”, “Hello, My School”, and a “Virtual Driving Licence” for high schoolers. Educational gifts with QR codes linking to safety tips will also be distributed.

Hussain Al Banna, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, noted that Dubai has maintained zero school-zone fatalities since 2010, thanks to stricter speed controls, smart signboards, and pedestrian safety measures.
RTA urged parents and drivers to use designated drop-off zones, respect school bus signals, and follow safety rules to ensure a safe start to the academic year.
