Dubai: Ahead of the new academic year starting on Monday, Dubai Police have announced a comprehensive plan to enhance safety in and around schools under the initiative titled “School Security.” The campaign was detailed by Brig. Nasser Al Sari, Acting Director of the Dubai Police Academy, and Dr. Brig. Abdulrahman Al Mamari, Secretary-General of the Hemaya Council, who extended best wishes to students, teachers, and parents for the year ahead.

∙ 250 patrol units deployed
Dubai Police will deploy 250 security and traffic patrol units in school zones. The operation will also include nine drones, six luxury patrol vehicles, four mounted police units, and 60 bicycles to monitor traffic and ensure smooth mobility around schools.

Additionally, 300 students will take part in the “Safety Ambassadors” program, a special awareness initiative. More than 750 senior officers and police personnel will be assigned to directly engage with students across different schools.

∙ Shared responsibility for safety — Mascot ‘Mansour’ joins with gifts
The initiative is being implemented in cooperation with various police departments, the Hemaya International Center, and the Positive Spirit Council, under the directives of Lt. General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Awareness programs will be conducted across 71 schools in Dubai, focusing on student behavior, building trust between families and the police, and spreading road safety guidelines. The activities will also include awareness lectures, traffic safety tips, information on Dubai Police services, and entertainment programs.

Police mascot “Mansour” will visit schools to interact with children and distribute gifts and school supplies.

Captain Majid bin Saeed Al Kaabi emphasized that student safety is a shared responsibility among parents, school administrators, and police. He urged collective cooperation to ensure a secure and inspiring educational environment for all.
