Sharjah :Authorities have reported a significant 22% drop in the number of crimes recorded in Sharjah during the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year. The reduction is being hailed as a reflection of the Sharjah Police’s effective strategies and operational efficiency.
Brigadier General Ibrahim Al Ajel, Director General of Police Stations, stated that this decline highlights the success of the emirate’s security framework and enhances the overall sense of safety among both citizens and residents. He attributed the achievement to the continuous 24/7 efforts of security personnel, the use of advanced checkpoints across various areas, effective field patrols, and the implementation of well-planned deployment strategies.
Sharjah Police have also intensified awareness campaigns aimed at increasing public cooperation and vigilance. The campaigns were designed to engage the community in crime prevention and to foster a stronger partnership between the public and the police.
Brigadier General Omar Boualzooud, Director General of Criminal Security and Ports, noted that the results stem from coordinated efforts between crime prevention plans and social security initiatives. He emphasized the importance of integrating safety with community engagement.
During the first half of the year, dedicated teams worked in collaboration with various government and private entities to strengthen strategic partnerships. In addition, targeted awareness campaigns were launched to educate the public on emerging crimes such as electronic fraud and behavior-related offenses.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining security and safety across the emirate, ensuring that Sharjah remains a secure place for all its residents.
