Dubai, 27 August 2025 – Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of five new bus routes and upgrades to nine existing ones, effective from 29 August, in a move to expand the city’s public transport network and improve passenger mobility.

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, said the initiative comes in response to increasing demand for public buses and is aligned with Dubai’s rapid urban expansion and population growth.

New Bus Routes

• Route 31: Connecting Dubai Silicon Oasis with Dubai Outsource City, operating every 20 minutes during peak hours.
• Routes 62A and 62B: Replacing the current Route 62, with Route 62A serving Al Qusais Industrial Area to Al Qusais Metro Station, and Route 62B running between Al Qusais Metro Station and Ras Al Khor – Samari Residences. Both will run every 30 minutes during peak times.
• Route F26A: Linking Onpassive Bus Station to Al Quoz Industrial Area 4, operating every 30 minutes.
• Route X91: A new express service between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Jebel Ali Bus Station, bypassing Business Bay Metro Station. Passengers traveling to Business Bay can instead use the modified Route 91.

Upgraded Routes

Nine existing routes will also see significant improvements:
• Route 7, F62, 77: Converted from circular to two-directional routes for smoother journeys.
• Route 91: Shortened to operate only between Al Ghubaiba and Business Bay Metro Station.
• Route X25: Shortened to serve Al Karama Bus Station and Dubai Silicon Oasis.
• Route 50: Adjusted to no longer pass through Dubai Outsource City, with further modifications planned in International City.
• Routes 21A & 21B: Both shortened between Al Quoz Bus Station and Al Ghubaiba Bus Station.
• Route J01: Rerouted within Jumeirah Village Circle.

Shakri added that the changes aim to strengthen the integration of buses with the metro, tram, and marine transport, ensuring that public transport remains the preferred mode of travel in Dubai.
