Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai celebrated Emirati Women’s Day with great pride and enthusiasm under the theme “Together, We Celebrate the 50th Year.” The event paid special tribute to pioneering and trailblazing women within the organization, recognizing their exceptional contributions and leadership.
The celebration took place at the GDRFA headquarters and was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Director General Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Deputy Director Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, and other senior staff.
In his address, Lt. Gen. Al Marri highlighted the vital role of Emirati women in the nation’s growth and their rise to senior positions across various sectors. A documentary showcasing key milestones in the journey of Emirati women was also screened during the event.

As part of the occasion, the GDRFA launched the “Dubai Pioneers Award” to honor outstanding female employees. A total of 44 women who demonstrated excellence, commitment, and innovation in their roles were recognized. Additionally, women who had completed over 30 years of service were honored for their long-standing dedication.
Distinguished guest Khuzaiba Ali Al Dahmani was also recognized during the ceremony.

The GDRFA reiterated its commitment to supporting and empowering women, emphasizing that women play an integral role in the country’s development. Lt. Gen. Al Marri remarked that the celebration was not just an event, but a national occasion to honor the vision of the “Mother of the Nation,” Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, who has long championed women’s empowerment in the UAE. He further stressed the organization’s aim to continue elevating women into more leadership roles in the future.
