The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has taken action against more than 5,400 establishments in the UAE during the first half of 2025 for violating labour regulations.
The violations — which included withholding wages, involvement in ‘Fake Emiratisation’ schemes, operating outside licensed activities, and registering workers without genuine contracts — were uncovered through a mix of field inspections and advanced digital monitoring systems that track establishments in real time.
According to MoHRE, around 285,000 inspection visits were conducted to registered firms as part of its drive to strengthen labour market governance, competitiveness, and efficiency.
Legal and administrative measures were imposed on the offending establishments, with some cases referred to the Public Prosecution depending on the severity of the breaches.
MoHRE reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding workers’ rights and ensuring that businesses comply with labour regulations in order to maintain a fair and sustainable employment environment.
