Kuwait: Lulu Group Chairman M.A. Yusuffali has broken his silence on the much-discussed Thrissur Lulu Mall project, making it clear that the group will move forward only through legal means. Speaking at the inauguration of Lulu’s 17th store in Kuwait, Yusuffali said that while the project’s delay was disappointing, every step taken by the group has always been guided by the law.

“Law Is the Foundation of Lulu’s Growth”

Addressing media queries on the stalled Thrissur mall, Yusuffali stressed:
“Wherever we operate in the world, we move forward strictly in line with legal frameworks. Thrissur is no different. Whatever is possible legally, we will pursue. Everyone has the right to question, but ultimately, we will go by the law.”

Thrissur Project’s Significance

The proposed Lulu Mall in Thrissur has been a matter of public debate for years. Yusuffali admitted that not being able to see the project materialize so far has been “painful.” The mall was expected to create thousands of jobs and boost the local economy, making it a landmark retail destination in Kerala’s heartland.

New Growth in Kuwait

The remarks came during the opening of Lulu’s new hypermarket at Al Bahar Center, Hawally, marking the group’s 17th store in Kuwait. Yusuffali also announced upcoming hypermarket projects in Salmiya, Jaber Al Ahmad, Sabah Al Saleh, Hessa Al Mubarak, and Al Mutla City, along with progress on a major logistics and cold storage hub in Shadadiyah.
