Ras Al Khaimah: The month-long Rakhotsavam Season 1 celebrations have officially commenced at the Ras Al Khaimah Safari Mall, marking a vibrant start to the Onam festivities in the UAE. The event was inaugurated on Thiruvonam day by Zainul Abideen Saleem, President of the Ras Al Khaimah Indian Association.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of prominent personalities including Safari Group Chairman Aboobacker Madapatt, Executive Directors Shameem Bakkar and Shahid Bakkar, social activist Chacko Ulakkadan, Naser Al Maha, MediaOne GCC General Manager Sawab Ali, and Subin, Manager of ASEAN Gold Jewellery.
The festival kicked off with a colorful cultural parade that celebrated the spirit of Kerala, featuring Mahabali, Pulikali (tiger dance), Chenda Melam (traditional drum ensemble), Kathakali, and other traditional art forms, immersing visitors in the festive ambiance of Onam.This is the first time in Ras Al Khaimah’s history that a shopping mall is hosting a month-long Onam celebration with such a wide array of programs and competitions. Speaking on the occasion, Zainul Abideen Saleem expressed his delight at being part of the historic celebration and emphasized the importance of preserving cultural identity abroad.
Safari Group Chairman Aboobacker Madapatt stated that the continued support and trust of customers have driven Safari’s growth, and the brand remains committed to delivering memorable experiences. He also expressed gratitude for the warm reception the Safari Mall has received from the Ras Al Khaimah community.
