The UAE Toastmasters community is set to welcome Sabyasachi Sengupta, the newly crowned World Champion of Public Speaking 2025, at the Champion’s Leadership Conclave in Dubai this weekend. The high-profile event will be held at The Aquila School in Dubailand on Sunday, September 21, bringing together more than 1,000 participants for a day of leadership, communication, and inspiration.
Organised by Toastmasters District 127, the conclave will feature Sengupta as the keynote speaker alongside distinguished leaders, including DTM Col. Mohammad Murad, past international president of Toastmasters, who will conduct the leadership workshop. Themed “Empowering Voices, Building Leaders,” the event aims to provide transformative insights through keynote addresses, workshops, and networking opportunities, reinforcing the principles of communication and leadership that Toastmasters champions worldwide.
District 127, which represents more than 2,800 members across 154 clubs in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has become one of the most vibrant Toastmasters communities globally. Its Director, DTM Sujil CV, said the conclave would deliver “transformative leadership insights and communication strategies to help participants elevate their life skills.” He emphasized that the event was designed to foster positivity, self-confidence, and professional growth among members.
Sengupta, who resides in Amsterdam, Netherlands, earned his title by representing District 59 in the global championship. His winning speech, “Just Nod,” highlighted his personal journey from an aspiring actor to a finance professional, and how a pivotal presentation rekindled his passion for public speaking. The speech carried the message that inspiration and influence do not require a grand stage—everyday opportunities can be a platform to perform and inspire.
In advance of his Dubai appearance, Sengupta said he was excited to engage with one of the most active Toastmasters communities in the world. “I will share my journey of transformation as a Toastmaster and my path to winning the World Championship of Public Speaking. I will also unpack the craft of creating authentic speeches, including behind-the-scenes moments from my winning speech. Sometimes the smartest move on stage, and in life, is just to nod. Come ready to laugh, learn, and leave with ideas you can apply immediately,” he said.
The conclave is expected to attract Toastmasters members, professionals, entrepreneurs, and corporate leaders from across the GCC, reflecting Dubai’s role as a hub for leadership development and international talent. With Sengupta’s presence and the participation of veteran leaders such as Col. Murad, the event promises to deliver inspiration and practical tools for growth to a diverse audience.
As Dubai hosts the World Champion of Public Speaking 2025, the conclave stands as both a celebration of achievement and a reminder of the transformative power of communication and leadership in shaping individuals and communities.
