Dubai, September 22, 2025: Emirates Airline has announced multiple flight cancellations to and from Hong Kong (HKG) and Shenzhen (SZX) on Monday, ahead of the expected landfall of Super Typhoon Ragasa on September 23–24.

Affected Emirates flights include:

  • Dubai – Hong Kong / Hong Kong – Dubai: EK382, EK383, EK380, EK381 (September 23–25)
  • Dubai – Shenzhen / Shenzhen – Dubai: EK328, EK329 (September 23–24)
  • Shuttle services between Hong Kong and Bangkok on September 23–24 have also been cancelled.

The airline stated that passengers traveling through Dubai to final destinations in Hong Kong or Shenzhen will not be accepted for travel at their origin until further notice. Affected passengers are advised to contact their travel agency or Emirates directly for rebooking.

Hong Kong International Airport will suspend all passenger flights for 36 hours from Tuesday evening as the city braces for one of its strongest typhoons in years. The airport will remain closed from 8:00 PM on September 23 to 8:00 AM on September 25, according to Qantas Airways.

The Hong Kong Observatory plans to issue the lowest typhoon signal at noon on Monday, upgrading it to the second-highest signal between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Gale-force to storm-force winds are expected to impact the city on Wednesday, with hurricane-force winds offshore and at high ground.

Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong’s largest carrier, said it is monitoring the storm’s impact, noting that flights are currently unaffected but may be adjusted as conditions evolve.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has suspended work and classes across Metro Manila and large parts of northern Luzon as Typhoon Ragasa approaches, bringing the threat of destructive winds and heavy rainfall.
