Ithra Dubai has officially launched Dubai Gold District, a purpose-built destination aimed at further strengthening Dubai’s position as the world’s leading hub for gold and jewellery trade. The launch marks a significant milestone in Dubai’s ongoing efforts to enhance its role as a global centre for retail, commerce, and investment.

Designed as a unified destination, Dubai Gold District brings together the entire gold and jewellery value chain in one location, encompassing retail, bullion trading, wholesale operations, and investment activities. By consolidating these elements, the District reinforces Dubai’s standing as one of the most trusted global destinations for gold.

The unveiling ceremony was held in the presence of senior government and industry leaders, including H.E. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Shaibani, Managing Director of the Investment Corporation of Dubai; H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; Dr. Juma Al Matrooshi, Assistant to the Secretary General of the Dubai Free Zones Council; and Issam Galadari, CEO of Ithra Dubai. The event also saw participation from long-standing traders operating across the District.

As Dubai’s new “Home of Gold,” the District hosts a diverse range of established global and regional gold and jewellery brands, offering buyers, traders, and investors exceptional choice and value. In 2025 alone, the District welcomed visitors from more than 147 nationalities, underlining Dubai’s position as a truly global marketplace.

A key upcoming attraction within the District will be the world’s first Gold Street, a unique tourism feature constructed using gold, with further details to be announced in phases.

Comprising over 1,000 retailers across gold, jewellery, perfumery, cosmetics, and lifestyle categories, the District also contributes significantly to Dubai’s retail and tourism ecosystem. Supporting infrastructure includes more than 1,000 hotel rooms across six hotels, as well as enhanced accessibility through Big Bus tourist routes introduced in 2025.
