Aster DM Healthcare, the UAE’s second-largest healthcare provider, has announced a series of game-changing projects worth AED 1 billion, aimed at transforming healthcare access and delivery across the country. The announcements were made at World Health Expo (WHX) 2026, in alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
The expansion plans include the launch of two new multi-specialty hospitals in Dubai — located in Studio City and Discovery Gardens — adding over 250 beds to Aster’s existing UAE capacity of approximately 920 beds. Once operational, the new hospitals are expected to serve more than 560,000 additional patients annually and create over 675 new healthcare jobs.
Aster also revealed plans to expand Aster Hospital, Al Qusais, through a new annex building, adding 122 operational beds and strengthening its Centre of Excellence for Oncology and other high-demand specialties. The AED 300 million expansion is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
In a major milestone for advanced care, Aster announced the launch of the first private multi-organ transplant centre in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, to be operated by Medcare Hospital. The centre will bring together global clinical expertise and world-class infrastructure to deliver complex transplant procedures locally.
The company further announced the launch of an Advanced Robotic Rehabilitation Centre in Dubai, featuring 18 super-specialized robotic systems, including US FDA-approved technologies such as robotic exoskeletons, neuromodulation therapies, and brain–computer interface systems. The centre will also house a dedicated Advanced Paediatric Neurorehabilitation Centre.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, said the projects reflect Aster’s long-standing commitment to making high-quality healthcare accessible while contributing to the UAE’s vision of becoming a global healthcare hub. Group CEO Ms. Alisha Moopen added that advanced clinical capability and intelligent digital integration will define the future of healthcare, with Aster’s investments focused on delivering world-class care pathways locally.
