Washington: US President Donald Trump has indicated that military operations in the Middle East may soon be halted, stating that the United States is close to achieving its strategic objectives against Iran.
According to Trump, key goals include dismantling Iran’s missile capabilities, weakening its defense infrastructure, and neutralizing its naval and air power. He emphasized that once the Iranian threat is eliminated, continued military engagement may no longer be necessary.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mujtaba Khamenei, in a Nawruz (Persian New Year) message, claimed that Iran has successfully countered its enemies, including the US and Israel. He highlighted national unity as a decisive factor in resisting external pressure.
Reports have also emerged of a ballistic missile attack by Iran targeting the US-UK military base on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, though there has been no immediate official confirmation from US or UK authorities.
Despite signaling a possible end to military operations, Trump ruled out the need for a ceasefire agreement, asserting that the US currently holds the upper hand in the conflict.
As tensions escalate, the evolving situation in the Middle East continues to draw global attention.
