Extensive humanitarian campaign concludes after supporting 150,000 Palestinians with essential food and relief supplies.
ABU DHABI – In a significant boost to international relief efforts, the United Arab Emirates has successfully concluded the ‘Humaid Air Bridge’ campaign, delivering over 600 tonnes of humanitarian and food aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The initiative, part of the UAE’s broader commitment to regional stability and humanitarian support, has provided essential lifelines to approximately 150,000 beneficiaries facing acute shortages.
Launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, the campaign operated as a vital component of the UAE’s ‘Operation Chivalrous Knight 3’. Over a span of two months, the air bridge facilitated the transport of aid to the Egyptian city of Al Arish, where it was coordinated for entry into the Gaza enclave to address the worsening food security crisis.
A Collaborative Humanitarian Effort
The success of the campaign was driven by a unified coalition of UAE-based charitable organizations. Key contributors included:
- Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi Charitable Foundation
- International Charity Organisation
- Emirates Red Crescent (Ajman Branch)
- Al Ihsan Charity Association
- Al Etihad Charity Foundation
Together, these entities prepared approximately 30,000 food parcels, each curated to meet international humanitarian standards and provide for the basic nutritional needs of displaced and affected families.
Strengthening Food Security
The logistics of the operation were meticulously planned to ensure a steady flow of supplies despite the complex ground situation. By utilizing Al Arish as a strategic hub, the UAE ensured that the 600 tonnes of relief—primarily composed of high-priority food items—could be distributed effectively to those most in need.
This initiative is a cornerstone of the larger ‘Operation Chivalrous Knight 3’, an umbrella mission directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The operation encompasses a multi-faceted approach to relief, including:
- Air and Sea Bridges: Continuous transport of heavy cargo.
- Birds of Goodness: Specialized airdrop missions for inaccessible areas.
- Medical Infrastructure: Ongoing support for field and floating hospitals to treat the injured.
A Legacy of Solidarity
The conclusion of the Humaid Air Bridge reaffirms the UAE’s long-standing humanitarian philosophy. By mobilizing resources across various emirates and organizations, the nation continues to play a leading role in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people, reflecting a deep-seated spirit of solidarity and brotherly support.
