Authorities confirm robust preparedness and national response systems are fully aligned with international standards to counter infectious diseases.

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates has officially confirmed the absolute readiness of its national health surveillance and response systems to monitor and address any developments regarding the Ebola virus. In a coordinated effort to safeguard public health, federal authorities emphasized that the nation’s preventive frameworks are under continuous evaluation to mitigate the risks of emerging infectious diseases effectively.

The strategic review took place during a high-level meeting chaired by Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention. Held under the oversight of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA), the session convened key strategic partners and health entities to analyze global Ebola trends and assess the UAE’s proactive defense mechanisms.

During the session, officials meticulously reviewed the country’s approved national health protocols, existing precautionary measures, and the integration channels established between local, national, and international health bodies.

In a joint statement, NCEMA and the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) reaffirmed their commitment to a proactive public health strategy. The authorities assured the public that comprehensive monitoring protocols remain actively enforced. Furthermore, healthcare facilities and medical teams across the Emirates have been placed on high alert, ensuring they possess the training and resources required to respond efficiently to any evolving health contingencies.

Recognizing the challenges posed by misinformation during global health events, NCEMA and MoHAP issued a strict advisory urging citizens and residents to rely exclusively on official government sources for updates. The entities cautioned against the propagation or circulation of unverified reports, reiterating that public awareness and accurate communication are vital components of national biosecurity.

The UAE’s robust response framework relies on continuous alignment with international best practices and World Health Organization (WHO) standards. Through unified coordination among institutional stakeholders, the nation continues to fortify its position as a global leader in pandemic preparedness and communicable disease management.
