NCM warns of reduced visibility and rough sea conditions as temperatures ease across several parts of the UAE.
Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates is expected to experience generally fair weather over the coming days, with dusty conditions, fog formation, and slightly cooler temperatures forecast across various regions, according to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).
In its latest weather update, the NCM said the country remains under the influence of a weak surface low-pressure system extending from the east, combined with a high-pressure system from the west and an upper-air high-pressure extension. These conditions are expected to shape weather patterns across the UAE through the middle of the week.
The authority said Saturday’s weather will remain fair overall, although dusty conditions are likely at times, especially in western regions. Light to moderate winds are expected to freshen intermittently, with speeds reaching up to 40 km/h. Winds shifting between southwesterly and northwesterly directions could lead to blowing dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility during daytime hours.
Temperatures are also expected to ease slightly compared to recent days. Coastal and island areas are likely to record highs ranging between 32°C and 38°C, while temperatures in internal regions may range from 38°C to 42°C. Mountainous areas are forecast to remain comparatively cooler, with temperatures between 27°C and 31°C.
Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to be moderate to rough at times, particularly westward, while the Oman Sea is forecast to remain slight.
On Sunday, weather conditions are expected to stay fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds likely to develop eastward. Humidity levels are also expected to rise overnight and into Monday morning across some coastal and inland areas, increasing the chances of mist and fog formation, especially in western regions of the country.
The NCM added that winds on Sunday will continue to be light to moderate, occasionally freshening with speeds ranging from 10 km/h to 25 km/h and peaking at 40 km/h at times. Sea conditions are expected to gradually improve, becoming moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf.
By Monday, temperatures are forecast to increase slightly under partly cloudy skies. Humid conditions may persist overnight into Tuesday morning in some coastal areas, while southeasterly to northeasterly winds are expected to remain moderate and occasionally become stronger during the daytime.
The weather department also forecast fair to partly cloudy conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday, with cloud formation expected eastward at times. Winds will remain light to moderate, shifting from southeasterly to northwesterly directions, while sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
The latest forecast comes as residents across the UAE continue to experience fluctuating weather conditions during the seasonal transition period, marked by varying temperatures, humidity levels, and occasional dust activity.
