Sharjah Economic Development Department has intensified inspection campaigns across markets and commercial establishments ahead of the Eid al-Adha holiday season to ensure compliance with consumer protection regulations and maintain fair commercial practices.
The department said it activated comprehensive market monitoring plans through expanded inspection drives targeting businesses and retail outlets associated with Eid-related shopping activities.
According to SEDD, commercial control and consumer protection teams have significantly increased field inspections and visits across major markets in recent days as part of efforts to strengthen oversight during the busy holiday period.
The campaigns focused on reminding merchants and retailers about the importance of clearly displaying prices and complying with commercial regulations to ensure consumers are fully aware of product prices and quality before making purchases.
SEDD stressed that transparent pricing practices are essential to protecting consumer rights and preventing violations during sales transactions, particularly during high-demand festive periods.
The department added that the inspection drives are part of ongoing efforts to enhance market stability, strengthen consumer confidence, and ensure a fair and transparent shopping environment across Sharjah during Eid Al Adha celebrations.
Authorities also urged consumers to report any commercial violations or misleading practices through official consumer protection channels.
