Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conferred the First Class Order of Independence on Edward Andrew Beauchamp Hobart in recognition of his efforts to strengthen strategic relations between the UAE and the United Kingdom during his tenure.
The honour was presented by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a meeting held in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah praised the ambassador’s role in advancing bilateral cooperation and enhancing the long-standing friendship between the two countries across various sectors. He also wished Hobart continued success in his future assignments.
The award recognises the ambassador’s contribution to strengthening UAE-UK strategic relations and supporting collaboration in diplomatic, economic, and other key areas of mutual interest.
In response, Ambassador Edward Hobart expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for the honour and praised the UAE President’s leadership and influence at both regional and international levels.
The ambassador also highlighted the strong and historic ties between the UAE and the United Kingdom and thanked UAE government entities for their cooperation and support throughout his diplomatic mission.
The UAE and the United Kingdom continue to maintain close strategic relations across trade, investment, education, technology, defence, and diplomatic cooperation.
