Dubai:Naomi Oyoe Ohene Oti, an Oncology Nurse Specialist from Ghana, has been awarded the prestigious Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award 2025, receiving a prize of USD 250,000 at a grand ceremony in Dubai. The award was presented by H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.Naomi, Head of Nursing at the National Radiotherapy Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Centre, Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, was honored for her decades-long contributions to improving cancer care, advancing nursing education, and championing health equity in Ghana and across Africa.She has trained over 60 oncology nurse specialists, launched training programs in partnership with international institutions, and served as a global voice for culturally relevant cancer care.Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, praised her as “a changemaker redefining the role of nurses.” The award, now in its fourth edition, saw 100,000 applications from 199 countries, recognizing nurses for excellence in leadership, research, innovation, and service.Nine other outstanding finalists from around the world were also honored for their exceptional contributions to healthcare.
