The state-of-the-art mobile units are designed to enhance customs inspections, ensure high security, and guarantee optimal comfort for the K9 handlers and canines.

DUBAI: Dubai Customs has officially unveiled a fleet of highly advanced, custom-designed vehicles for its K9 Dog Squad unit. This strategic deployment aims to bolster security checks and expedite inspection processes across the emirate’s various land, sea, and air ports, utilizing cutting-edge technology integrated within mobile inspection systems.

The newly introduced vehicles are equipped with specialized thermal insulation and climate control systems meticulously designed to protect the K9 dogs from extreme weather conditions. This ensures that the canines remain in peak operational health during intensive field duties. The units also feature advanced security communication devices, allowing seamless connectivity between the handlers and the central operations room.

According to Dubai Customs officials, this upgrade is part of a broader vision to modernise logistics and border protection framework in line with international safety and security standards. The specialized vehicles serve as complete mobile operational bases, housing necessary field investigation equipment and safe transit stalls for the canine officers.

Dubai Customs’ K9 unit plays a crucial role in preventing smuggling and detecting illegal substances, explosives, and prohibited goods. By continuously upgrading its infrastructure and integrating advanced mobile technology, the department reinforces Dubai’s status as a secure global hub for trade and travel.
