Dubai,:Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a comprehensive 15 km development project to upgrade Al Wasl Road, stretching from Umm Suqeim Street to 2nd December Street. The initiative is part of a broader master plan to enhance traffic flow and urban infrastructure across the Umm Suqeim–Al Safa corridor.The project includes widening Al Wasl Road from two to three lanes in each direction, upgrading six key intersections, and constructing five tunnels totaling 3,850 metres. Once completed, it is expected to reduce travel times by 50% and boost capacity to 12,000 vehicles per hour.

RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer emphasized the project’s focus on improving mobility and urban aesthetics, featuring pedestrian walkways, cycling tracks, boulevards, and public spaces. The development will serve over one million residents and numerous tourism, retail, and residential destinations.This initiative is part of a wider network upgrade that includes improvements to Umm Suqeim Street and Al Qudra Road, enhancing overall connectivity, safety, and quality of life across Dubai.
