The National Center of Meteorology issues a warning as intense summer heat and dusty conditions sweep across the Emirates.

ABU DHABI, July 1, 2026 — The United Arab Emirates is bracing for a significant rise in temperatures, with mercury levels expected to touch 46°C in several parts of the country. According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the intense summer heat will be accompanied by persistent dust storms and high humidity levels over the coming days.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory warning residents of a sharp increase in temperatures across the UAE. Daytime temperatures are projected to peak at 46°C, particularly in internal and desert regions, while coastal areas will experience slightly lower but highly humid conditions.

In addition to the soaring heat, the NCM stated that blowing dust and sand, triggered by fresh winds, will significantly reduce horizontal visibility on the roads. Residents, particularly motorists, are urged to exercise caution due to the dusty conditions.

Humidity levels are also expected to rise sharply during the night and early morning hours, creating muggy conditions across coastal and internal areas. The NCM has advised the public to minimize direct exposure to sunlight during peak afternoon hours and stay adequately hydrated.
