The mega-merger consolidates Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare, and KIMSHEALTH into a unified platform spanning 39 hospitals across 28 cities.

KOCHI, July 2, 2026 – Leading Indian healthcare providers Aster DM Healthcare Limited and Quality Care India Limited have successfully completed their merger operations, establishing a new unified entity, ‘Aster DM Quality Care Limited’. The landmark consolidation aims to scale up world-class, advanced medical infrastructure and clinical expertise beyond metropolitan areas into India’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

The strategic merger integrates four prominent healthcare brands—Aster DM Healthcare, CARE Hospitals, Evercare, and KIMSHEALTH—under a single corporate umbrella. The newly formed entity operates a massive network of 39 hospitals across 28 cities, boasting a combined capacity of over 10,600 beds and a workforce of more than 45,000 healthcare professionals.

Under the new corporate structure, Dr. Azad Moopen will continue to lead the organization as Executive Chairman, while Varun Khanna takes charge as Managing Director and Group CEO. The entity plans to expand its total capacity to over 15,000 beds in the coming years.

A primary objective of the merger is to bridge the healthcare divide between metropolitan hubs and smaller urban centers, reducing the need for patients in emerging cities to travel long distances for complex medical procedures. The group’s specialized care network will focus heavily on growing markets, including Nagpur, Aurangabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, Nagercoil, Kolhapur, Kannur, Kasaragod, and Kottakkal.

To accelerate clinical excellence, Aster DM Quality Care will intensify capital investments in next-generation medical technologies. Future deployments include Gamma Knife, advanced stereotactic radiosurgery systems (such as ZAP), and 10 robotic surgical platforms across its network. Furthermore, the group will add 12 Linac-based radiation therapy systems across tier-2 and tier-3 locations to decentralize advanced oncology care.

Dr. Azad Moopen, Executive Chairman of Aster DM Quality Care, stated that the merger represents a significant milestone in building a highly resilient, future-ready healthcare network driven by clinical excellence and an unyielding commitment to patient care. Managing Director and Group CEO Varun Khanna emphasized that the integration will be seamless, ensuring zero disruption to patient care while harmonizing digital health systems and clinical best practices across all facilities to benefit patients, doctors, and staff alike.
