Dubai:The World Malayalee Council (WMC), the foremost global network of Malayalees, is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary with the XIV Biennial Global Conference in Sharjah, UAE — a milestone event that underscores three decades of unity, vision, and cultural pride. Scheduled from June 27 to 30, 2025, the grand gathering will be hosted at the elegant Corniche Hotel Sharjah, nestled along the tranquil Khalid Lagoon.Bringing together over 450 delegates from 80 provinces spanning six continents, the four-day conference will serve as a vibrant forum for dialogue, diplomacy, and diaspora collaboration. Originally slated to be held in Baku, the venue was shifted to Sharjah in view of the evolving geopolitical tensions in the region, said Dr Issac John Pattaniparambil, WMC’s Global Ambassador and Chairman of the Organising Committee, at a media briefing in Dubai.

Joining Dr Pattaniparambil. at the press conference were key WMC leaders, including Charles Paul, Global Vice President (Organisation), Shahul Hamid, Global Vice President (Middle East), CA Biju, Global Secretary, along with WMC Middle East Region leaders Vinesh Mohan (Chairman), Santhosh Ketteth, President and General Convener, Thomas Joseph, Vice President, and Judin Fernandes. The details were shared by V.S. Bijukumar, WMC Dubai Province Chairman and Chief Media Relations Officer.
“This global conference, which also coincides with the WMC Middle East Regional Biennial Conference, is not only a celebration of our past but a strategic look into the future of the global Malayalee community,” said Dr Pattaniparambil. “It will be a transformative platform filled with enriching dialogues, cultural expressions, and invaluable networking led by WMC Global Chairman Johny Kuruvilla, Global President Baby Mathew, and Global Vice President (Administration) Nadackal Sasi..”

Major highlights of the three-day event include the installation of the new global leadership team for 2025–2027, insightful panel discussions, cultural showcases, gala dinners, a general assembly, business and media summits, and a public meeting, said Paul.
A key moment will be the June 29 gala awards ceremony and public session themed “India’s Growing Economic and Diplomatic Engagements in the Emerging New World Order,” expected to feature high-level dialogue on India’s global positioning, said Mohan.
Ketteth said the conference will be a historic celebration of identity and connectivity. “As WMC commemorates 30 years of cross-continental camaraderie, we aim to chart a new course for the next two decades of growth and engagement.”
