UAE:: In a bid to connect Kerala’s skilled youth with global employment opportunities, especially in the Gulf region, the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) has launched a major initiative under its Vijnana Keralam program.
A key component of the initiative is the Gulf Job Fair, scheduled to begin in Thrissur on July 12–13, 2025, offering thousands of opportunities across Gulf countries. Similar job fairs will follow in all districts of Kerala.
A high-level delegation from K-DISC, led by Dr. T. M. Thomas Issac, former Finance Minister of Kerala and Advisor to the program, is currently visiting the UAE to engage with the Malayali diaspora and forge partnerships with employers. The team also includes Dr. P.V. Unnikrishnan, Dr. P. Sarin, Shri Biju Parameswaran, and Shri Abraham Valiyakala.

Meetings were held with business leaders from companies such as Gulfar, SGS, Metaverse, and upcoming discussions are planned with Aster Medicity, Sobha Developers, and others. The delegation also engaged with UAE’s Food and Beverages Association and senior Malayali professionals to channel HR requirements through the program.
With a database of over 5 lakh skilled youth, Vijnana Keralam aims to position Kerala as a global knowledge-based employment hub. An International Skill Summit will be held in Kochi on August 29–30 to align Kerala’s training programs with global industry demands.The Kerala government is calling on the UAE-based diaspora to support this mission and help bridge Kerala’s talent with global job markets.
