Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to complete a major traffic enhancement project at the Dubai Healthcare City exit to Sheikh Zayed Road (Street 13) by July 20, aimed at improving traffic flow by up to 50%.The upgrade includes transforming the current stop-controlled exit into a free-flow exit by adding a new acceleration lane towards the intersection of Oud Metha and Sheikh Rashid Road. Additionally, the service road exit is being widened from one lane to two over a 500-meter stretch to ease congestion for vehicles coming from Al Riyadh Street.Once completed, the improved corridor will accommodate up to 3,000 vehicles per hour, significantly reducing congestion and wait times, especially during peak hours. This project is part of RTA’s broader strategy to enhance road capacity and safety across Dubai, particularly in key urban zones such as Dubai Healthcare City and Oud Metha—areas that host hospitals, schools, residences, and businesses.

RTA has also previously carried out other improvements in the vicinity, including upgrades to the Umm Hurair and Oud Metha entry/exit points, and widening the service road leading to Umm Hurair Road. These changes have already improved traffic conditions by over 40% during rush hours. The new enhancements reaffirm RTA’s commitment to building a smarter, safer, and more efficient transport infrastructure in line with Dubai’s long-term mobility goals.
