SEWA automates verification systems to accelerate infrastructure development and bolster business activity across the emirate.
SHARJAH, July 25, 2026:The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority has reduced the turnaround time for issuing No-Objection Certificates from three working days to two hours, leveraging an upgraded digital architecture to streamline infrastructure approvals and encourage commercial investment.
The initiative forms part of the authority’s broader digital transformation roadmap aimed at modernizing public service delivery across the emirate. By automating data verification and integrating background processing systems, the utility provider has eliminated traditional bureaucratic delays for developers, contractors, and property owners.
Abdulrahim Al Zarouni, Director of the Shared Services Department at SEWA, said the upgrade directly aligns with directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to improve the business environment and simplify regulatory requirements.
No-objection certificates serve as a critical prerequisite for commencing utility connections, site works, and municipal infrastructure projects. Accelerating this approval pipeline allows commercial and residential developments to transition from planning to execution with minimal delay.
Applicants can now submit NOC requests 24 hours a day through SEWA’s official website and smart application. The digital portal features real-time tracking capabilities, allowing users to monitor request status and receive automated digital certificates immediately upon system clearance.
