A 17-year-old Indian student passed away in Sharjah after suffering a cardiac arrest, just weeks after celebrating her birthday.
The teenager reportedly began feeling unwell on Wednesday morning and was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. However, she died shortly after being admitted. According to the death notification, the cause of death was listed as cardiac and respiratory arrest.
The student was studying in Grade 11 at Sharjah Indian School. Authorities have not confirmed whether she had any pre-existing medical conditions that may have contributed to the incident.
Originally from Kerala, India, the girl’s family has been residing in Sharjah for several years. Her sudden death has left the school community and residents deeply saddened.
The incident follows other recent cases involving young individuals suffering cardiac arrests in the UAE. In October, an 18-year-old university student collapsed and died after attending a Diwali celebration in Dubai, highlighting growing concerns around sudden cardiac incidents among youth.
