Khorfakkan: Adventure enthusiasts from the group A4 Adventure marked this year’s Indian Independence Day in a truly unique way — atop the scenic Rafis Dam mountain, at an altitude of over 1,200 feet above sea level.Driven by the idea of celebrating Independence Day in an extraordinary manner and hoisting the Indian tricolour at impressive heights, members of the group began their celebrations with an early morning hike to the mountain peak. Over a hundred participants, including children and adults, joined the event.

This was not the group’s first such experience. Known for commemorating festivals such as Onam, Eid, and Christmas with mountain treks, A4 Adventure has in past years organised many such distinctive celebrations on hilltops. This year too, hikers carried the spirit of patriotism in their hearts and voices, singing national songs, delivering messages of unity, sharing sweets, and performing cultural programmes at the summit.
The sight of hundreds of tricolour flags fluttering high above the sea, at a height of more than 1,000 feet, was the highlight of the celebrations. A4 Adventure founder Hari Kottachery conveyed his greetings, while Adnan Kaladi, Vishnu Mohan, Akshara, and Aleena led the day’s events
