The cultural landmark and presidential palace complex gains major international recognition for offering visitors an immersive look into Emirati heritage and architecture.

ABU DHABI :Abu Dhabi’s presidential palace complex, Qasr Al Watan, has been named among the world’s top 100 travel experiences for 2026, marking another global milestone for the UAE’s cultural tourism sector.

The cultural landmark, situated within the Presidential Palace compound, earned its place on the international list following sustained interest from global travelers and industry reviewers. The recognition highlights the monument’s dual role as a working governmental building and an educational hub showcasing traditional Arabian craftsmanship, governance, and history.

Since opening its doors to the public in March 2019 under the directive of UAE leadership, Qasr Al Watan has emerged as a cornerstone of Abu Dhabi’s tourism itinerary. Visitors are granted access to several prominent halls, including the Great Hall, which features intricate mosaic work and traditional dome design, and the Spirit of Collaboration hall, where high-level council and cabinet meetings take place.

The complex also houses the Qasr Al Watan Library, containing a collection of over 50,000 books detailing the history, culture, and political development of the region, alongside rare manuscripts detailing early Arabic contributions to science, literature, and humanities.

Industry analysts note that the recognition comes amid a broader surge in cultural visitors across the emirate. Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi) has continued to expand its global promotional campaigns, positioning sites such as Qasr Al Watan, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as primary draws for leisure travelers.

The site hosts daily public tours and evening light shows that map the nation’s past, present, and future onto the facade of the main building. Tickets remain available through official government tourism channels and the palace’s web portal.
