Dubai: On World Humanitarian Day (August 19), Dubai witnessed a heart-touching scene of compassion and love. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai) and the Community Development Authority (CDA) joined hands to organize a heartfelt initiative where People of Determination delivered “Wrapped with Love” gift packages to young patients at Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital.
As part of the “Year of Community” vision to embrace all segments of society, the initiative saw People of Determination prepare and beautifully wrap the gifts themselves with colorful papers. They then visited the hospital wards, personally handing over the gifts to the children, spreading joy and brightening their smiles despite their medical struggles.
“This initiative reflects our core principle of ‘Human First.’ The active participation of People of Determination demonstrates that everyone in society has the ability to walk on the path of goodness and contribute positively,” said Brigadier Abdul Samad Hussein Al Baloushi, Assistant Director-General for Leadership and Future Affairs at GDRFA Dubai.

Echoing this, Haris Al Mur Bin Haris, CEO of Social Development and Care Sector at CDA, emphasized: “Dubai aims to build a truly inclusive community, leaving no one behind. By involving People of Determination in such humanitarian efforts, we are not only empowering them but also reinforcing the core values of our society.”
The initiative celebrated universal values of compassion, togetherness, and solidarity, reaffirming Dubai’s position as a global humanitarian city.
