DUBAI : Dubai authorities have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to further digitize worker welfare programs, streamlining public services and enhancing support for the emirate’s labor force.

The agreement, spearheaded by local government entities and labor welfare bodies in Dubai, establishes a framework to migrate key worker support initiatives, training modules, and administrative procedures onto integrated smart digital platforms.

The move aligns with the UAE government’s broader Zero Bureaucracy initiative, aiming to optimize digital service delivery, reduce processing times, and strengthen labor protections across all sectors.

Smart Transformation of Worker Support

Under the newly signed agreement, several key worker services previously managed through physical interaction centers will transition to unified digital systems. The initiative focuses on improving access to labor rights awareness, dispute resolution channels, housing standard compliance, and social support services.

Officials noted that digitizing these services ensures greater accessibility for Dubai’s multi-lingual workforce. Smart tools will provide real-time updates and seamless communication in multiple primary languages, including Arabic, English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Strengthening Rights and Operations

“This agreement marks a significant step forward in our ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life and working conditions for every worker in Dubai,” said a representative involved in the initiative. “By leveraging digital infrastructure, we are removing administrative barriers and providing accessible channels for protection, training, and support.”

The Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs (PCLA) and partner institutions in Dubai have continuously expanded programs covering health and safety compliance, residency awareness, and legal rights. Transitioning these operations to a centralized digital framework allows regulatory bodies to track compliance more efficiently while offering workers direct, round-the-clock access to government help channels.
