New digital service expands access to legal representation ahead of planned September launch of world’s first AI judicial platform
ABU DHABI — The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has launched a direct video consultation service connecting legal counsel with clients, part of an overarching push to modernize court procedures across the emirate.
The remote consultation mechanism enables registered attorneys and litigants to hold secure, verified video sessions through approved judicial platforms. The system allows parties to discuss case strategies, review documentation, and coordinate litigation steps without physically attending court offices or legal chambers.
The initiative comes as judicial authorities prepare to introduce the world’s first integrated artificial intelligence judicial platform, scheduled for its initial operational phase in September 2026.
According to official ADJD statements, the broader digital transformation plan aims to accelerate case preparation, streamline procedural steps, and expand access to justice. Under the new video service, consultation scheduling is managed directly through the department’s online portal, ensuring verified identity checks and confidential communications for all participants.
AI judicial rollout planned for September
The upcoming AI platform, developed jointly by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and the Department of Government Enablement, will introduce automated analytical tools across various stages of litigation.
Chaired by Counsellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the ADJD, the project steering committee approved a phased implementation model spanning 18 months following the September launch.
Authorities emphasized that while artificial intelligence will support document reviews, procedural checks, and legal research, human judicial officers retain sole decision-making authority over all legal rulings and court outcomes.
The modernization drive aligns with directives issued by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, to establish international standards for smart justice.
Court users can access the video consultation feature through the official ADJD web portal and smart applications starting this month.
