Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Keolis–MHI, has completed a large-scale project to modernise wayfinding signage across all Dubai Metro stations, with more than 9,000 signs upgraded and replaced over 11,000 workhours.

The initiative is part of RTA’s strategy to improve public transport services and ensure seamless journeys for metro and tram users. The enhancements include clearer entry and exit signs, new bright yellow exit markers for better visibility, and updated platform indicators with floor stickers to guide passengers efficiently towards the correct train lines.

Hassan Al Mutawa, Director of Rail Operations at RTA’s Rail Agency, said the project was designed to make passenger journeys smoother and more comfortable. “This plan improves the flow of commuters within stations, reduces confusion, and helps riders reach their destinations more quickly,” he explained.

As part of the upgrade, RTA also introduced behavioural reminder stickers across stations and waiting areas to encourage proper etiquette and enhance passenger comfort. Additionally, new prominent signage has been installed for Women and Children Cabins and Gold Class Cabins, replacing older floor markings with clear pink and gold boards for better identification and to reduce misuse.

To ensure consistency, the signage updates have been integrated across RTA’s smart systems, including mobile applications, train and platform audio announcements, and official social media channels.

RTA emphasized that the project reflects its commitment to improving service quality and maintaining Dubai Metro’s reputation as one of the most efficient and passenger-friendly transport systems in the world.
