Emirati medical teams deliver critical surgical and diagnostic care as part of broader humanitarian efforts marking 1,000 days of continuous relief
GAZA CITY / ABU DHABI:The United Arab Emirates field hospital in the Gaza Strip has delivered vital medical care to more than 116,000 Palestinian patients, offering life-saving surgical interventions and comprehensive clinical services amid ongoing conflict and humanitarian strain.
Emirati medical personnel operating inside the enclave have performed 1,045 complex surgical procedures to treat trauma injuries and critical health conditions. The field facility, established to reinforce Gaza’s severely damaged healthcare infrastructure, continues to function as a frontline medical refuge for civilians requiring emergency and specialized care.
Alongside surgical interventions, the field hospital’s diagnostic units have completed 12,270 laboratory tests and 11,017 medical imaging procedures, including X-rays and specialized scans. These diagnostic capabilities have enabled medical teams to deliver precise treatment plans for acute trauma patients, women, children, and the elderly.
The healthcare milestone forms part of the UAE’s broader “Operation Gallant Knight 3” relief campaign, launched under the directives of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide comprehensive humanitarian aid. Marking 1,000 days of continuous operations, the overall Emirati medical umbrella—which includes the Gaza field hospital, community health outposts, and a floating hospital docked in the Egyptian port city of Al Arish—has provided medical care to over 230,000 Palestinians.
The Gaza field hospital operates with specialized units including intensive care, pediatric care, orthopedics, and general surgery. It is further supported by rehabilitation initiatives, such as the fitting of custom prosthetic limbs for war amputees through dedicated recovery programs.
Beyond field operations, the UAE has evacuated thousands of Palestinian patients with critical injuries and severe chronic conditions, including cancer, to receive specialized treatment inside hospitals in the United Arab Emirates.
Humanitarian officials confirm that medical supplies, specialized diagnostic equipment, and pharmaceuticals continue to be delivered via land convoys and air shipments to ensure the continuous operation of clinical services inside the enclave.
