Abu Dhabi: Three young men from Palestine, the United States, and India have become the first beneficiaries of the UAE’s 10 Journeys Initiative, a AED 4 million humanitarian program launched by Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Founder and Chairman of Burjeel Holdings.
The life-changing osseointegration surgeries were performed at Burjeel Medical City by renowned orthopedic surgeon Prof. Dr. Munjed Al Muderis. Unlike traditional socket prosthetics, the breakthrough technique anchors prosthetic limbs directly to the skeleton, giving patients improved mobility, comfort, and quality of life.

The first beneficiaries included Palestinian engineer Anas Jebeihi, American accident survivor Joshua Arnold, and Indian entrepreneur Sharon Cheriyan — each finding new hope after years of struggle.
Seven more individuals are set to undergo surgery in the coming months, continuing the UAE’s mission to extend healing across borders.
