Dubai: The Dubai Government has announced a public holiday for all government departments on Friday, September 5, in observance of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), corresponding to 13 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1447 in the Islamic calendar.
The Dubai Government Human Resources Department issued a circular confirming the holiday. Normal working hours will resume on Monday, September 8.
Authorities stated that the holiday reflects the government’s commitment to honoring religious and national occasions. It also offers an opportunity for families to come together and reinforces values of unity and tolerance.
The holiday, however, does not apply to departments and institutions that provide essential services or operate on a shift basis. These departments may arrange work schedules to ensure uninterrupted public services.
